Audrey’s career path has taken her from being a teacher and public school administrator to her current role as a professor of English literature. She has been told by her mother that the first word she spoke as a child – on seeing flowers blooming in spring – was “pretty”. Coached, no doubt, to admire the beauty in nature and the arts, Audrey has done so ever since. In public life, she has instructed classes in literature, fine arts and drama, directed school and community productions for children and young adults, and served on divisional and provincial boards and committees concerned with curriculum development and school improvement. In private life, Audrey enjoys reading, writing, walking, travel and cottage life with her family in the Whiteshell. As a producer of the arts, Audrey has tried her hand at creative writing, playing the piano, drawing, painting, fabric arts, clay work and photography. Audrey also enjoys being a member of the audience, a role that she practices often as she watches her grandchildren participate in arts and sports activities.

She looks forward to being able to sing in the local community woman’s choir “Accent”, and accompanying in the festival again one day. It is a privilege to be part of a vibrant SAC board and enriching our community through the arts!
Alan Fehr (and his alter-ego, Dr. Sprocket) have been edu-taining kids in the Southeast area since 2012. His trilogy of improvised Kid‘s Fringe shows taught the fundamentals of good storytelling while eliciting giggles and participation from kids of all ages. Outside of children’s edu-tainment, Alan has been involved in writing, directing and producing all of Real Live Entertainment theatre productions, including “Of Mice and Men” (2015), Agatha Christie‘s “The Mousetrap” (2017) and their up-coming production of “Still Stands the House” (2020). He’s thrilled to join the BTC team, where he and his students will be learning to express themselves, work collaboratively and explore the performer’s toolbox. Alan and his wife Christal live just outside of Steinbach with their 2 children, Arianna and Grayson.

Inna looks forward to supporting the development of art and cultural activities as a member of the SAC board.
Barb was introduced to artistic talent at a young age, as she observed her father using various mediums as an artist. Her father, Henry P. Fehr, was a co-founder of the Steinbach Arts Council, along with John Henry Friesen. Growing up, she recalls assisting her father with art shows at the Mennonite Heritage Village Museum, an annual showing of Mennonite artists at Polo Park, and travelling throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan and western Ontario staging chalk talk presentations.
Many summer vacations were spent in Alberta, where her father attended classes at Banff School of Fine Arts by day. Evenings, she observed him capture images on canvas, such as the pristine Maligne Lake or majestic Mount Rundle.
Although not gifted with a paint brush, Barb appreciates beauty through photography. She also enjoys travel, including trips to Spain where she has been mentoring Spanish professionals in conversational English since 2005.
Barb’s 32 year career at SCU provided her many opportunities. She hopes to contribute her expertise, acquired in numerous areas of the financial industry, to her role on the SAC Board.
