What is the After School Arts Program?
The After School Arts Program is a unique program for Grades 5 to 12 – free of charge – designed to provide opportunities for youth to participate in creative activities, meet other youth from around the region and enjoy a safe experience that inspires their creativity, provides mentorship opportunities with artists and instructors and encourages overall character enrichment and wellbeing. Please note that A.S.A.P classes are taught in a group setting.
Our 50/50 for Kids! raffle fundraiser made it possible to fund and run this amazing program. To learn more about ASAP’s mission and benefits, click here.
If it’s free, why do I have to register for the class?
Due to limited supplies for instruments and studio space, we need to take into account the people who would like to participate in classes so that we can provide all the materials you need for a successful learning experience. Please sign up online prior to a class and let us know whether you will be needing an instrument or if you are bringing your own.
Registrations are still welcome for ongoing classes with available slots.

Is the class you’re interested in already full for this season? Call our office or e-mail Tonya at tonya@steinbacharts.ca to join our call list to get notified of the next round of classes. We take registrations on a first-come-first-served basis. Please note that joining the call list does not reserve your spot in a class.
Instruments Terms & Conditions
Anyone from Grades 5-12 who signs up for an A.S.A.P class is entitled to borrow an instrument for the duration of the class. You are allowed to take home a guitar/fiddle to practice with given that you care for it and bring it back in its original condition at the end of the season. An Instrument User Agreement must be signed by the student and the parent before we can release the instrument to you.
Please see Tonya in the SAC Office to sign out an instrument.
What if I can’t get a ride to an ASAP class?
