Our pottery classes build beginner skills to create functional everyday hand-built or hand-thrown pottery, with an emphasis on the endless possibilities inherent in clay. Hand Building with Clay, Age 5-12
Thursday and Saturday Classes are both full
Students will learn a variety of basic pottery techniques in order to become familiar and comfortable making 3D objects with clay. Early classes will offer simple projects with step-by-step instructions. Students will have an opportunity to create self-directed projects during later classes. This class is offered on Thursdays and Saturdays. See times below.

Have you always been interested in learning pottery, but don’t know where to start? We can help! Our intro to pottery class will give learners the chance to experiment with clay, learn new techniques and make beautiful ceramics.

Basic Pottery Wheel, Age 16+

The pottery wheel is a fun and valuable tool to learn. Get a solid start to mastering the pottery wheel in this 8-week introduction to the pottery wheel. Learn lots, expand your creativity and create ceramics to take home!

Intermediate & Advanced Pottery, Ages 16+
Note: You must have completed a pottery class in the past to register.
Pre-requisite: In order to keep up with the class, you must have taken a pottery class in the past and know the basics of working with pottery.

Join your friends in this split-level class that gives all intermediate artists the chance to grow and develop their talents. Open Pottery Studio, Age 16+
Do you want to have the complete creative freedom to work on your own pottery projects while advancing skills through professional guidance? Then join us for our Open Pottery Studio where you can work on your own projects at your own pace with expert guidance from pottery aficionado, Donna Garofalo. Sign up for the entire term or come drop in some evening and try it out! Drop in availability depends on enrollment.

Class Policies
SAC Membership
A SAC Membership must be purchased for all classes which consist of multiple sessions (1+ hours per session). For workshops under 8 hours long or 1-day duration only, a member and non-member price will be indicated. Memberships have a 1-year validity and are non-refundable.
- Resident Membership: $15 for Individuals; $30 for Families
- Non-resident Membership: $20 for Individuals; $35 for Families

Refund Policy
• In order for your spot to be reserved, all dues must be collected at the time of registration.
• Credit Cards are accepted through our online registration as well as over the phone. Credit, Debit, Cash and Cheques payable to SAC are accepted in person. NSF charge of $20 for all returned cheques.
• Full refunds are given when you withdraw two weeks prior to the start date of a class/workshop/day camp. From that point until the start of classes, a 50% credit will be applied to your account upon withdrawal. There will be no refund after the start date of your class.
• SAC Memberships, admin fees, and material fees are non-refundable.
• Refunds will be sent via cheque in the mail. Refunds can take up to two weeks to process and will require a valid mailing address.
• Classes with insufficient numbers will be cancelled and all fees will be refunded.
• Personal information will not be shared, traded, or sold to any third parties. SAC reserves the right to use this information for our own statistical, mailing, and membership purposes.
