INSTRUCTOR: Gabriela Gallo, BM, BEd, PBEd
What is FUSION?
Directed by Gabriela Gallo, FUSION is beginning its third exciting season! It is a musical theatre program for young people who have had some exposure to the genre. It is designed to provide group training and opportunity to aspiring young performers in the area of Musical Theatre, for ages 8-14. In order for SCM to create the safest environment possible for all students during this pandemic, we will be focusing on movement and acting during the first half of the year. Vocal practice tracks and lyric sheets will be provided in October in order for students to have a head start when we can hopefully sing freely in the new year of 2021. We haven’t forgotten about our younger performers! Due to Covid, in the interest of safety for all of our students, those under 8 years old will be invited to join FUSION in January. The price of the course will be modified to reflect the shortened class. Please call the Steinbach Arts Council at 204-346-1077 to get your name on our waiting list for January.
How will the program help me?
The goal of FUSION is to provide young performers with skill development, opportunity, and preparation in the area of musical theatre resulting in the production of a Disney Jr. musical in the spring of 2021.
Our instructor tailors this series of workshops to each INDIVIDUAL student within the group, bringing out the best singer/actor/dancer in everyone! Regardless of your aspirations as a young performer, FUSION is the program you want to be in if you love musical theatre.
What makes this program different?
FUSION is exactly that: a fusion of three disciplines of performing arts including music (voice), drama and movement. Individual voice lessons usually focus on one element of musical theatre, but FUSION incorporates all three.
